Saudi Arabia has announced that it will issue certificates verifying the successful completion of the annual Hajj trip to Cairo. According to the Kingdom’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, interested travelers can get their certificate by downloading the Nusuk app and selecting the design they choose.
The number of people who performed the Hajj this year in Saudi Arabia was back up to its pre-pandemic levels. After three years of reductions in the number of pilgrims due to COVID-19, Saudi Arabia decided to relax its restrictions on the number and age range of participants this year.
Over 222,000 pilgrims performed Hajj this year
Official Saudi data estimate that approximately 1.8 million pilgrims traveled to and from the holy city of Mecca in Saudi Arabia this year as part of the Hajj. After performing the it, many Muslims from throughout the world travel to Medina to pray at the Prophet’s Mosque and see other important Islamic sites.
According to official statistics, more over 222,000 pilgrims from various nations have arrived in Medina since the Holy ritual concluded on Saturday. The Prophet’s Mosque in Medina is well-known because it contains Al Rawda Al Sharifa, the site of Mohammed’s (PBUH) grave. In the last month, the city welcomed tens of thousands of Muslims traveling to Mecca.
