A video game store in Uruguay has reportedly shared the exact release date of Rockstar Games’ highly awaited Grand Theft Auto (GTA) 6.
The store, called XUruguay, surprised fans after a post revealed when GTA 6 might be released, according to a gaming website.
The post, which was quickly deleted, claimed that GTA 6 would launch on September 17, 2025.
GTA 6 Might Be a PlayStation 5 Exclusive
According to the leaked information, GTA 6 will be released only for PlayStation 5 at first.
Some reports suggest that this leak may have been due to a mistake in communication between XUruguay and Rockstar Games.
Many fans pointed out that GTA 5 was also released on September 17, 2013, exactly 12 years before the rumored GTA 6 release date.

Rockstar Games Has Not Confirmed the Date
If the leak is true, GTA 6 will arrive exactly 12 years after the previous game in the Grand Theft Auto series.
After the leak, XUruguay quickly released a statement to clear up the confusion about the GTA 6 release date.
XUruguay’s Clarification on the Leak
XUruguay explained that they did not intend to mislead anyone and were only making a guess based on past Rockstar Games releases.
“Like all fans, we are very excited about GTA 6. We looked at the previous game’s release date, which was September 17, 2013, as a reference,” the store stated.
Official Confirmation Is Still Pending
The store also denied receiving any official information from Rockstar Games or other companies.
“We did not mean to confuse anyone. We want to make it clear that we never received any official details about the release date of GTA 6,” they added.
They further mentioned that based on rumors, GTA 6 could be released in Fall 2025 (September, October, or November), but nothing has been officially confirmed yet.
