I/O, Google’s annual developer conference, has evolved beyond its developer-centric roots to serve as a venue for launching new services and, on occasion, physical devices. It also serves as a teaser for upcoming Pixel smartphones.
Given its multidimensional significance, I/O has established itself as a key event on Google’s calendar, taking place annually in May.
This year’s launch date is no different, with Google announcing that its next conference will be held on May 14.
All of the sessions will be live-streamed online, particularly on YouTube, as the platform belongs to Google.
Initially, Google made it difficult to find out their release date teaser by including a logic puzzle with up to 15 levels.
Although some were able to solve the puzzles and determine the launch date, Google later chose to publicly announce it on social media and quit being secretive.
Interestingly, the unveiling occurs exactly two months after Google first published the riddle.
We anticipate a strong emphasis on AI during this year’s event, since Google looks to be completely dedicated to the technology—constantly reiterating it. Undoubtedly, AI will play an important role at I/O 2024.
Google’s Pixel devices are not likely to be released until at least October of this year. Knowing Google, we’ll probably see teases months before the official announcement.
Who knows, maybe Google will drop subtle hints about its next Pixel products at its next I/O conference.
