Google’s upcoming foldable phone has been circulating for quite some time.
The Pixel Fold has reportedly been cancelled or delayed numerous times, and it is still not nearing completion. According to some reports, it has now been postponed until next year.
Despite the delays, notable tipster Kuba Wojciechowski has managed to unearth some Pixel Fold camera details.
According to his information, the folding phone will be codenamed “Felix” and will feature a flagship camera setup.
A 64 MP Sony IMX787 primary sensor, a 12 MP IMX386 ultrawide lens, and a 10.8 MP Samsung S5K3J1 telephoto camera should be included.
The inner camera will have an 8 MP IMX355 sensor, and the outer selfie camera will have an S5K3J1 sensor as well.
“As far as we knew that device would be pipit. This, however, makes little sense, as it most likely had a first-generation Tensor, which would be outdated by the time it comes out. Enter “Felix”. It has been previously rumored to be the 7a with a Tensor G2.” — Kuba Wojciechowski said.
According to the source, this device was previously rumored to be the Pixel 7a, and it will include the second-generation Tensor chip known as Tensor G2.
Google recently confirmed the chip’s name as it prepares to launch its next flagship series, the Pixel 7. The teaser campaign for these phones has already begun, confirming the October 6 release date.
There is currently no information available about the Pixel Fold. According to some reports, the device is also known as the Pixel Notepad, and we may learn more about it at the Pixel 7 event.
Google’s folding phone, according to rumors, will have a similar form factor to the Oppo Find N. This means it will have a squarish design rather than Samsung’s rectangle Z Fold phones. Its inner screen is expected to be 5.8 inches in size, with an outer screen of around 7 inches.
Other specifications are unknown, but it will almost certainly come with flagship hardware to compete with the likes of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4.
