Despite a drop in the price of gold on Monday on the international market for yellow metal, the price of 24-karat pure gold increased by Rs. 2,000 a tola in the Pakistani jewellery market.
The All-Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association reports that a tola of 24 carat pure yellow metal cost Rs. 2,37,300.

In local markets, the cost of 10 grams of 24-karat metal climbed by Rs. 1,714, to Rs. 2,03,446 per 10 grams.
The price of 10 grams of 22-karat metal has also surged; on Monday, it was trading for Rs. 1,86,493.
On the world market, ywlloe metal prices dropped by US$5 and were trading at US$1,972 per ounce.
The price of fine silver in 24 karats grew by Rs. 50 per tola to Rs. 2,900 per tola, while the cost of silver in 24 karats per gram rose by Rs. 42.87 to Rs. 2,486.28 per gram.
