AI endpoint security startup Glow stepped out of stealth on July 22, 2026 with one of the fastest unicorn launches the cybersecurity world has seen: $180 million in funding at a $1.2 billion valuation, aimed at redefining how enterprises secure the modern endpoint with a prevention-first approach. For Pakistani IT teams watching AI tools spread across corporate laptops without proper controls, this debut is worth understanding closely.

What is AI Endpoint Security and Why Does It Matter Now

An endpoint is any device that connects to a company’s network: a laptop, a desktop, a server. Traditional endpoint security software watches for known viruses or attacks that have already started. It detects and then responds. That model worked well in a simpler era.

The problem today is different. As more enterprises deploy AI tools and attackers increasingly use generative AI to automate phishing, develop malware, and launch more sophisticated cyberattacks, companies are rethinking how they secure endpoints. AI coding assistants, chatbots, and autonomous developer agents now sit on millions of employee devices. Many of them were never reviewed or approved by security teams. Regular usage of AI on corporate devices, authorised or not, has risen from 15% to 45% in just one year.

This is the gap that Glow is trying to fill. The company calls it “shadow AI”, AI tools that employees install and use on work devices without IT or security teams knowing they are there. Each one can pull data, make network calls, or become an entry point for an attacker.

What Glow Actually Does

Founded in 2025, Glow is building an endpoint security platform that helps enterprises monitor and control the software, AI agents, and developer tools running on employee devices. The platform uses specialised AI agents to continuously map enterprise environments, assess risk in real time, and enforce security policies.

Glow Security is an AI-native endpoint security platform built around a blunt claim: existing tools cannot see most of what actually runs on enterprise endpoints. The company’s research puts more than 12,000 unique software pieces in an average organisation, 67% of them invisible to current tooling, and 30% of AI agents operating without guardrails.

The company says its technology can determine which software should be allowed to run and which should be removed, reducing the attack surface without slowing business operations. In practice, this means it can spot a risky AI coding tool that an engineer installed last Tuesday and quietly block it before an attacker exploits it.

The system uses Anthropic and Google Gemini models via Amazon Bedrock, enhanced by Glow’s own context engine. The platform has already prevented malicious npm packages from installing and flagged missing endpoint detection tools in customer environments.

The Team and the Funding Behind Glow

Glow was founded by Roi Tiger, CEO, who spent nine years at Meta, most recently as VP of Engineering; CTO Omer Singer, who served as Snowflake’s Head of Cybersecurity Strategy; and VP of R&D Ophir Arie, who served as VP R&D at Claroty.

The leadership team also includes chief operating officer Emily Heath, a former CISO at United Airlines and DocuSign who served on the board of Wiz through its $32 billion acquisition by Google. That is a team with real enterprise credibility before a single product was sold publicly.

The Palo Alto-headquartered startup raised $180 million in an all-equity Series A funding round that valued it at $1.2 billion, with backing from Sequoia Capital, Cyberstarts, Greenoaks, and Redpoint Ventures, alongside participation from Index Ventures, Swish Ventures, Lux Capital, Operator Collective, and Holly Ventures.

Despite only emerging from stealth, Glow said it already has paying customers across healthcare, retail, and financial services, though it declined to disclose names or numbers. Separately, signed customers include Qualtrics, Fanatics, CAVA, BMC Software, Antares Capital, Xactly, and Hospital Sisters Health System.

The endpoint security market is projected to grow from $23.34 billion in 2026 to $39.41 billion by 2031, driven by AI-based analytics. Glow is entering that race at the right time with a clear thesis.

How This Differs from Older Security Tools

Incumbent EDR tools like CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, and Microsoft Defender detect and respond to threats; Glow’s pitch is that these tools miss the majority of endpoint software entirely and do not govern AI agents at all. Think of it this way: existing tools watch the front door for intruders. Glow also watches the 12,000 things already inside the house.

The startup will demo its technology at Black Hat USA 2026, which will be the first real test of its claims before the security research community.

Why Pakistani Enterprises Should Pay Attention

Pakistan’s corporate sector is adopting AI tools fast. Banks, hospitals, software houses, and retail chains are all adding AI assistants and coding tools to daily workflows. The problem is that security teams in most Pakistani organisations are small and often stretched thin. A tool like Glow addresses exactly the kind of uncontrolled AI adoption that global demand is shifting toward: AI integration, data analytics, cybersecurity compliance, and cloud migration.

Pakistan already faces a serious threat environment. As covered in our earlier report, Pakistan cyberattacks in 2026 crossed 400 blocked incidents and the national CERT is pushing for stronger laws. The spread of uncontrolled AI tools on enterprise devices adds a new and less visible layer to that risk. Understanding evolving cybersecurity regulations from the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority and PECA is essential, but challenges include the shortage of skilled professionals and the need for continuous training.

Platforms built around AI endpoint security principles, whether Glow or local alternatives, give small security teams the ability to do in minutes what would otherwise take weeks of manual software auditing. For a market like Pakistan, that efficiency gain matters.

You can also read about how a recent Linux privilege escalation flaw put 16 million servers at risk, another reminder that endpoint and server security cannot be treated as an afterthought.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Glow and where is it based?

Glow is a cybersecurity startup co-headquartered in Tel Aviv, Israel and Palo Alto, California. It was founded in 2025 by former executives from Meta, Snowflake, and Claroty. It focuses on AI endpoint security, specifically protecting enterprise devices from unauthorised software and uncontrolled AI agents.

What does shadow AI mean in simple terms?

Shadow AI refers to AI tools that employees install and use on work computers without telling their IT or security teams. These tools can access company data, connect to outside servers, and create security risks that the organisation does not even know exist. Glow is designed to find and control these hidden tools.

How much money has Glow raised and at what valuation?

Glow came out of stealth on July 22, 2026 with $180 million in funding and a $1.2 billion valuation. This makes it one of the few cybersecurity companies to reach unicorn status before publicly announcing revenue figures.

Does Glow replace tools like CrowdStrike or Microsoft Defender?

Not exactly. Glow positions itself as a prevention-first platform rather than a detect-and-respond tool. It focuses on controlling what software and AI agents are allowed to run in the first place, which is a different job from what traditional endpoint detection and response tools do. Both types of tools can work alongside each other.
