In the upcoming fiscal year 2023-24 (FY24), the federal government has allotted Rs. 90 billion for lawmakers’ programmes.
Parliamentarian projects under the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Achievement Programme are expected to get Rs. 90 billion (a 32 percent increase) in the upcoming fiscal year, according to sources.
Parliamentarian programmes saw an increase in spending from the previous year’s budget of Rs. 68 billion to Rs. 111 billion in FY23.
Government will allocate additional funds for FY24
The government has included several initiatives in the PSDP for the upcoming fiscal year, including a Need Assessment of Health Human Resources for Driving Innovation and Achieving SDGs 2030, as well as National Initiatives for SDGs and the Establishment of a Federal SDGs Support Unit. The government has also set aside funds for the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Merged Districts.
