The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) announced that the East Africa Connecting Europe (PEACE) Cable International Network Co. Ltd. had finished building the submarine cable infrastructure connecting Pakistan to France and that it was now fully operational.
According to the statement, communication will be available from Karachi to Marseille via the 15,000 kilometer submarine cable.
PTA said that the cable had been stretched from Pakistan to Singapore by an additional 6,500 kilometers, with branches going to the Maldives, Malta, and Cyprus in addition to landings in Singapore, Pakistan, Kenya, Egypt, and France on the main trunk.
“It adds an ultra-fast, high capacity, low latency, and redundant connectivity to Pakistan’s international connectivity,” PTA stated.
The Pakistan-Egypt stretch, which has a total length of 5,800 km, runs from Karachi to Zafarana.
The management of PEACE Cable, whose representatives met with Chairman PTA Major General (Retd) Amir Azeem Bajwa at PTA Headquarters, reported the development.
Director Zhang Donghai, Commercial Director Chirs Zhang, Chief Operating Officer (COO) Sun Xiaohua, and Pakistan Manager Shoaib Ashfaq Qureshi of Peace Cable made up the delegation for PEACE.
According to PTA, the group talked about upcoming plans for the development of cutting-edge digital and technological solutions to speed up progress toward a digitally connected Pakistan and expressed interest in investment opportunities in that country.
