Fly Jinnah, which began operations in November 2022, has swiftly become one of the most well-known names in Pakistan’s aviation market.
In a recent development, Fly Jinnah got approval from Pakistan’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) to operate CAT III approaches, arrivals, and departures. Airlines having CAT III classification can operate effectively in extremely poor visibility conditions.
The low-cost carrier is the only domestic airline in the country that has CAT III certification for its whole fleet and pilots.
It is intended to increase the airline’s ability to navigate and operate smoothly in adverse weather circumstances, notably during fog between major cities in the country.
It is vital to note that the Category 3 (CAT III) of the Instrument Landing System (ILS) is critical due to its capacity to assist landing operations in low visibility situations.
Last year, the federal cabinet awarded authority to Fly Jinnah for its overseas operations under the suggestion of the Aviation Ministry.
Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Iraq, Malaysia, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates would be among the overseas destinations served by Fly Jinnah.
Furthermore, the CAA had ranked it first in its domestic flight punctuality rating a few months ago. Fly Jinnah led with an impressive on-time departure rate of 87.93%, followed by Air Sial at 86.89%, Air Blue at 78.36%, and Serene Airlines at 62%.
