Miftah Ismail, the Federal Minister of Finance and Revenue, has urged the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to maximise revenue collection during the next two months in order to reach the amended target set for the current fiscal year, 2021-2022.
The Finance Minister paid a visit to the FBR (Headquarters) on Tuesday to assess the organization’s operations and the ongoing campaign for tax compliance.
On his first visit since taking office as Finance Minister, Asim Ahmad, Chairman FBR/Secretary Revenue Division, and other top executives greeted him warmly.
During the meeting, Chairman FBR briefed the Minister on the overall performance, revenue objectives, and collections made during the first ten months of the current fiscal year (July 2021-April 2022).
The Minister of Finance acknowledged his delight and conveyed his gratitude to the FBR for meeting the goal.
He expressed the expectation that FBR will continue to optimise revenue collection in the coming two months in order to reach the amended target set for the current fiscal year, 2021-2022.
He also emphasised his wish for the FBR to look into all possible options for tax compliance and, as a result, make every effort to tap into Pakistan’s genuine income potential.
Chairman FBR was assured of the Minister of Finance’s full assistance in the country’s ongoing tax collecting effort.
