In Karachi’s Shamsi Society, a man in his forties is suspected of using a sharp object to kill his wife, and three kids, before trying to unsuccessfully stab himself to death, police said Tuesday.
Senior Superintendent of Police Korangi Sajid Sadozai said that the suspect is still hospitalized with critical wounds. He continued by saying that the victims were residents of the home where the crime was committed.
The 38-year-old mom and three daughters, ages 16, 12, and 10, were all discovered dead inside the residence, according to the police.
He pointed out that a sharp-edged weapon was used to kill the victims. The survivor, identified as Fawad, is the husband of the older woman and the father of the murdered girls.
Fawad is the main suspect in the killings, according to the police.
The police officer stated that the suspect, who worked as a sales manager for a private spice firm, attempted suicide after killing his wife and kids.
Four months passed without Fawad receiving pay: mother
The suspect’s mother reported that everything was OK up until 1:30 pm in an interview.
She said, “The girls also attended college and school.” The mother of the suspect also stated that she called upstairs after hearing screaming, but nobody answered.
“When I went upstairs, the door did not open. When we shook the door hard, the hinge opened. After I went inside the girls were lying where would usually sleep. In the other room, my daughter-in-law was covered with a blanket,” she said while describing the incident.
The mother of Fawad noted that her son and daughter-in-law had never expressed any grievances.
“Today, all my granddaughters met me and left for studies. When I went inside, my son Fawad was also lying injured,” the suspect’s mother claimed.
She said, “My son hadn’t gotten his income in four months.”
