Facebook has introduced various audio products, including Soundbites, a short-form experience, and the addition of podcasts to its main platform. All of these products will compete with Clubhouse and Spotify, to name a few.
Soundbites are short, creative audio snippets that may be used to record tales, jokes, inspirational moments, poetry, and other things.
“We’ll start testing Soundbites with a limited number of producers over the next few months and enhance the product with their feedback before making it available to everyone,” Fidji Simo, Head of Facebook App, said late Monday in a statement.
To help launch Soundbites, Facebook is launching a ‘Audio Creator Fund,’ which will fund new audio makers and provide early input on the new product.
Over 170 million individuals are currently connected to hundreds of thousands of podcast pages on Facebook, and over 35 million people are members of podcast fan groups.
To listen to these podcasts, one had to exit the Facebook app. “Within the next few months, you’ll be able to listen to podcasts directly on the Facebook app, both while it’s open and when it’s closed,” says the company “The social media platform revealed it.
Facebook will also assist users in discovering new podcasts and episodes based on their own preferences.
“We’ll also begin testing Live Audio Rooms, with the goal of making it available to everyone on the Facebook app by the summer,” says the company “Simo said.
Facebook will test Live Audio Rooms in Groups, making them available to the 1.8 billion individuals who use Groups each month, as well as the tens of millions of active Facebook groups.
This summer, the business wants to launch Live Audio Rooms on Messenger in addition to delivering this to Facebook.
When Live Audio Rooms launches, people will be able to give to organisations they care about or support their favourite creators and public personalities through Stars.
