Multan Sultans, who have made a strong start in this year’s Pakistan Super League (PSL), have been dealt a blow as three foreign players were called up for national duty.
The three players are from the West Indies, and they are Rovman Powell, Odean Smith, and Dominic Drakes, who have been selected for the Windies’ upcoming trip of India. West Indies will play an ODI and T20I series in India from February 6 to 20.
Johnson Charles, a fellow countryman of Rovman Powell, has taken his spot in the Multan Sultans’ team. Odean Smith was replaced by Dominic Drakes, however both will now quit the squad.
As a result, the Multan Sultans are apparently ready to file an official request to the PSL’s technical committee to find Drakes and Smith replacements.
The Multan Sultans will face the Quetta Gladiators tonight. The former champion is two points clear at the top, while the latter is third and vying for first place on the points table. Since, Multan Sultans have defeated Karachi Kings in Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2022, the first match of the season Multan is going undefeated.
