On Wednesday, it was disclosed before the Senate Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs that the major reason Pakistani tourists were sent back from the UAE was that they did not meet the requirements of the UAE government and had fraudulent return tickets.
Senator Farooq Naek presided over the meeting, which discussed the issue of the actions taken against Pakistanis who were returned back to Pakistan from the UAE. It was explained to the committee that these were isolated events that were not connected.
The guests were sent back mostly because they did not meet the requirements established by the UAE government. The committee was also informed that the return tickets, which are a requirement for travel to the UAE, were discovered to be fake.
The chairman of the committee expressed significant worry about this and claimed that occurrences like this damage the nation’s reputation. He then ordered the Foreign Office to take strong measures in this respect.
The meeting was attended by senior officers from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), and the Directorate General of Immigration & Passports, as well as Senators Palwasha Mohammad Zai Khan, Samina Mumtaz Zehri, Mehr Taj Roghani, Muhammad Tahir Bizinjo, Anwaar ul Haq Kakar, Danesh Kumar, and Bahramand Khan Tangi.
