The caretaker Federal Government has increased pay and utility allowances for officers in management positions (MP I, MP II, and MP III) by 45%.
Caretaker PM Approved 45% Increase in MP I, MP II, and MP III Positions
According to the Finance Division, the caretaker Prime Minister has approved a salary package revision for management positions beginning October 1, 2023.
Furthermore, it is worth noting that the previous government increased the executive allowance for the remaining officers serving at the Pakistan Secretariat by 150% in February 2023.
This followed the government’s initial increase in the executive allowance for Pakistan Administrative Group (PAS) officers while declining to increase the allowance for other groups serving in the Secretariat.
In the federal budget for 2023-24, the basic pay for BPS officers was also revised.
Additionally, the caretaker Prime Minister recently approved a 140% increase in executive allowances for FBR officers serving at the headquarters.
MP-I Grade Salary Increase
However, the caretaker government increased the maximum ceiling of basic salary, house rent, and other allowances for the MP-I grade to Rs 1,013,920 from Rs 699,350.
Moreover, the caretaker government has increased the minimum collective amount of basic salary, house rent, and other allowances for MP-1 from Rs. 554,600 per month to Rs. 804,180.
The maximum basic salary for MP-1 will be Rs. 772,780, with a minimum salary of Rs. 629,230 beginning October 1, 2023.
The minimum house rent for this special scale has been raised from Rs.101,000 to Rs.146,450, while the maximum house rent has been raised from Rs.142,000 to Rs.205,900.
Meanwhile, the government has increased the minimum utility allowance from Rs. 19,650 to Rs. 28,500, as well as the maximum utility allowance from Rs. 24,300 to Rs. 35,240.
MP-II Grade Salary Increase
According to the document, the government has increased the collective maximum basic salary, house rent, and other allowances for MP-II to Rs. 599,704 per month from Rs. 413,600 per month.
While the minimum basic salary, house rent, and other allowances for MP-II have been increased to Rs. 370,850 per month from Rs. 255,750 per month.
MP-III Grade Salary Increase
Similarly, the maximum basic pay for MP-III will be Rs. 263,190 per month, while the minimum will be Rs. 184,230.
MP scales officers are also entitled to TA/DA on domestic official tours, TA/DA on international official tours, medical facilities, and gratuity.
Finance Ministry
According to the finance division, relevant divisions/ministries will meet their expenditures from their allocated budget for the current fiscal year, and the revised MP package will be automatically admissible to current incumbents working in MP scales in the future.
According to the finance division, the existing rates for monetizing transportation facilities (MP-1 Rs. 95,910, MP-II Rs. 77,430, MP-III Rs. 65,060) will be maintained.
