The current market situation, according to cryptocurrency exchanges
As Edul Patel, co-founder and chief executive officer of Mudrex, explained on ABP Live, While investors prepared for a crucial week of economic events in the US, Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum stayed reasonably flat on Monday.
The release of nonfarm payroll statistics and comments by US Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell make this week a pivotal one for the market. BTC has struggled to recover the $22,800 level, and if the bears are successful in pushing the price lower, the next support level is at $21,480.
Even Ethereum, the second largest cryptocurrency after BTC, has seen sluggish trading around the $1,500 mark, suggesting that buyers and sellers are hesitant.
“Bitcoin (BTC) and Ether have began the work day with little fluctuation, but the market sentiment remains gloomy, with many investors predicting additional drops,” said Rajagopal Menon, vice president of WazirX.
Any signal of a more aggressive attitude on interest rates could exacerbate market volatility, especially in the Crypto area, thus investors will be paying close attention to US Fed Chief Jerome Powell’s upcoming statement.
