During the second Test match of the historic series against Pakistan at Multan Cricket Stadium, England red-ball captain Ben Stokes achieved yet another milestone in Test cricket.
Stokes led England to their first 3-0 series victory in Pakistan, but he missed an opportunity to beat McCullum in the eighth test series win in Karachi on Tuesday.
Before the match, McCullum, a Black Caps master blaster from 2004 to 2016, and Stokes were tied for the lead with 107 sixes.
Ben Duckett (82no) led England to victory with an unbeaten 35 from Stokes.
After hitting a maximum in the match’s second innings, the left-handed batter tied Brendon McCullum’s record for most sixes in Test cricket.
According to the list, Ben Stokes and Brendon McCullum have hit 107 maximums in 89 and 101 matches, respectively, while Adam Gilchrist, an Australian batter, has hit 100 sixes in the format.
Chris Gayle, a former West Indian captain, and Jacques Kallis, a South African all-rounder, are fourth and fifth on the list, with 98 and 97 sixes in 103 and 166 matches, respectively.
After Joe Root stepped down as England’s red-ball cricket captain earlier this year, Ben Stokes was appointed, and the team has since played an aggressive brand of cricket.
England won the home series against New Zealand and South Africa, as well as the only match against India in the 2021 series, under his leadership.
