The Pakistani government is working to launch “Beep Pakistan,” a secure and seamless messaging application for government officials or employees. The App’s goal is to prevent the leakage of government information.
According to sources, the National Information Technology Board (NITB), an attached department of the Ministry of Information Technology, has been working on the smartphone App, which will include features such as chatting, voice calling, and video calling.
According to sources, the Minister of Information Technology has also stated that the “Beep Pakistan” App will be required for government officials. The messaging App would be used by the Prime Minister, cabinet members, and others in sensitive positions.
The app has been in development for quite some time, and if sources are to be believed, final testing will take place soon.
The smartphone App is similar to WhatsApp, but its UI [user interface] was designed with security threats and cyber-attacks in mind.
It is worth noting that a global investigation discovered that India had targeted a phone previously used by Prime Minister Imran Khan with spyware developed by an Israeli company, raising concerns about widespread privacy and human rights violations.
