Babar Azam has accomplished one of his objectives for the year after reaching his first PSL century on Wednesday in Rawalpindi against Quetta Gladiators.
The Zalmi captain smacked 15 fours and three sixes in 60 balls to reach the milestone.

Babar Made History but Smashed by Jason Roy
The Zalmi Captain also made history by becoming the first player to ever knock 15 fours in a single PSL innings. However, an hour later in the same game, Jason Roy shattered this mark by smashing 20 fours in his record-breaking undefeated 145-run innings.
He stated that he hopes to hit his first PSL century and believes his new franchise team, Peshawar Zalmi, will win the PSL this year in an interview with Cricket Pakistan immediately before the start of PSL season 8. He added that his ultimate goal is for India to win the 2023 World Cup.
“I have a lot to achieve, but my main goal is to score maiden PSL century in this year’s season and win PSL for Peshawar Zalmi. I also want to win this year’s ICC World Cup 2023 scheduled in India, and I want my country to be named the winning side,” said Babar.

After winning the toss, he gave Zalmi an excellent start by forming a record partnership of 162 runs with Saim Ayub.
The most by any Pakistani batsman in T20s, Babar’s 36th century partnership. Rizwan, a Pakistani wicketkeeper batsman with 26 century stands, is the next player on the list.
Only three players—Chris Gayle (46), David Warner (42) and Virat Kohli—have more century partnerships than Azam (38).
Babar is the batsman in the world with the most T20 hundreds (eight) since 2019. Jos Buttler comes in second with six centuries.
