Jakarta, 7 October 2026, The ASOCIO Digital & AI Summit 2026 entered its third and final day with a series of strategic discussions on digital technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI), cross-border collaboration, and the strengthening of the innovation ecosystem across Asia and Oceania.
Following two days that brought together leaders of technology associations, government representatives, industry executives, academics, innovators, and delegates from ASOCIO member economies, the final day featured keynote sessions, industry talks, and panel discussions focused on moving AI and digital technology beyond the hype toward real-world implementation and measurable impact for economies, industries, and society.
One of the keynote sessions was delivered by Muhammad Neil El Himam, Deputy for Digital Creativity and Technology at Indonesia’s Ministry of Creative Economy / Creative Economy Agency. His participation underscored the growing importance of connecting technology, AI, creativity, and innovation as part of Indonesia’s emerging engines of economic growth.
From Discussion to Real Business Opportunities
Beyond conference dialogue and the exchange of ideas, ASOCIO Digital & AI Summit 2026 also introduced Pitch Networking, one of the most anticipated sessions among delegates and ASOCIO Award recipients.
During the session, each award recipient was given three minutes on the main stage to present their company, product, innovation, or solution to international delegates, business leaders, technology executives, potential partners, and summit participants.
The short format was designed not as an additional ceremony, but as a practical stage for opening more concrete business conversations. Recognition did not end when a trophy was presented. Through Pitch Networking, that recognition was translated into visibility, connection, and opportunity.
Participants were able to discover the companies and innovative solutions behind the award categories in greater depth. At the same time, award recipients gained a platform to expand their networks and explore potential collaboration across companies and national borders.
This reflected one of the summit’s central ambitions: to create a platform that connects not only ideas, but also people, capabilities, opportunities, and collaboration.
Looking ahead, Myanmar was selected as the host of the ASOCIO Digital Summit 2027, carrying the regional gathering forward to its next destination. The selection reflects ASOCIO’s commitment to broadening participation and regional leadership across its member economies, while creating new opportunities for collaboration, knowledge exchange, and digital-industry engagement throughout Asia and Oceania. As the Jakarta summit drew to a close, the transition to Myanmar also symbolised continuity, one chapter concluding while the next chapter of ASOCIO’s regional journey begins.
Angklung Diplomacy: Where Technology Meets Local Wisdom
After three days filled with conversations on technology, digital transformation, and Artificial Intelligence, the ASOCIO Digital & AI Summit 2026 closed with something remarkably simple and deeply rooted in Indonesian culture: the angklung.
This was not merely a cultural performance. It carried a message.
In the “Angklung Diplomacy” session, ASOCIO delegates were invited to play angklung together. Each participant held an instrument with a different note. A single angklung produces only one tone; by itself, it cannot create a complete song.
But when dozens of people, each holding a different note, listen to one another, follow the rhythm, and play their part at the right moment, something much greater emerges: harmony.
The symbolism reflected the journey of ASOCIO over the three-day summit. Every country has its own character, culture, strengths, capabilities, and level of technological development. No single country has all the answers.
Like the angklung, those differences are not weaknesses. When each unique strength is brought together through collaboration, synergy, trust, and shared purpose, something can be created that no single participant could achieve alone: harmony.
One Region, Many Strengths, One Shared Future
The message of the angklung is especially relevant as the world enters a new era of Artificial Intelligence. The future of AI should not simply become a race over who moves fastest or who becomes most dominant.
The future of technology should be built through the ability of governments, industries, academia, innovators, and communities to work together, combining their respective strengths while ensuring that technology delivers broader and more meaningful benefits for people.
Different notes. Different strengths. Different nations. One harmony. |
Through this simple yet powerful symbol, Indonesia closed ASOCIO Digital & AI Summit 2026 with a message for Asia and Oceania: the future will not be built by one technology, one company, or one country alone. It will be built together.
Just as angklung can only create beautiful music when every player contributes their part in harmony, the collective strength of Asia and Oceania will reach its greatest potential when countries choose to collaborate, create synergies, and grow together.
With the conclusion of the Angklung Diplomacy session, ASOCIO Digital & AI Summit 2026 in Jakarta officially came to a close after three days. Yet the end of the summit does not mark the end of the journey. It signals the beginning of new connections, new collaborations, and a shared commitment to building a stronger, more inclusive, and human-centred digital and AI future.
Because the future will not be created by one voice. It will be created in harmony. |
