Apple is anticipating the release of its next chipset version, A16 Bionic, alongside the flagship iPhone 14 series smartphones; however, this chipset version will not be available for all devices.
The tech giant will include all premium features in the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, while the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max will have fewer features than the Pro variants.
The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max, on the other hand, will have the same notch as the iPhone 13 series smartphones, while the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max will have a new pill-shaped cut out on the front.
Before the official announcement, key details about the upcoming A16 Bionic chipset have leaked online. According to a recent report, the A16 Bionic chipset will be built using TSMC’s N4P process and will have 18-20 billion transistors. Overall, the A16 Bionic chipset will outperform its predecessor by 15%.
In addition, the A16 Bionic chipset is said to be paired with LPDDR5 RAM, which is up to 50% faster than the previously used LPDDR4X RAM.
The GPU is said to have a 5 core-6 core design and will provide 30% better performance. The iPhone 14 Pro models will reportedly include a 48-megapixel camera lens capable of recording video in 8K resolution. Apple may use Qualcomm modems, so a Snapdragon X65 is possible for connectivity.
