As the WHO declared the end of the global emergency caused by the pandemic, one more person died in Pakistan from Covid-19.
The number of coronavirus infections in Pakistan is now at 1,580,859, while the number of deaths is at 30,658, according to data from the National Institute of Health (NIH).
A total of 3,269 tests were performed during this time, with a 0.89 percent positive rate and nine patients requiring intensive care.
While the WHO has rescinded its global health emergency, the warning against Covid-19 remains in effect.
WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said that the number of deaths caused by the virus was probably closer to 20 million than the reported 7 million.
He warned that the virus was still active and evolving, and that governments shouldn’t relax their guard or abandon the measures they’d taken to deal with the pandemic.
