During the most recent Google I/O developer conference, the search engine titan announced numerous new features for Android 15.
Such these are changes meant for protecting user privacy and security. However, there is one adjusting that could benefit everyone: increased battery life.
The already-included Sleep feature in Android 15 will be improved. This feature aids to conserve battery power when your phone is not in use.
The change seeks to make Doze mode less rigid. Google claims that devices running Android 15 will enter Doze mode 50% faster than Android 14.
When the phone is idle for an extended period of time, Doze mode disables background activity and restricts app access to system resources.
This leads in fewer battery utilisation, particularly from apps that perform unnecessary background processes.
According to Google’s internal experiments, activating Doze mode faster could increase standby time by up to three hours on some smartphones.
However, actual benefits may vary depending on the individual hardware and how the phone is utilised.
This update will be available for all handsets updating to Android 15, implying a significant improvement in battery life across all models.
