According to Google Android 10 has been downloaded faster than any version in its history, hitting 100 million devices in five months and its adoption rate 28% faster than the previous version
Android is an open-source operating system used by an enormous range of manufacturers which make many different devices. The manufacturers have usually had to approve major Android releases for their device but some time they refused to commit to update for their phones immediately and often delays. That has upset some users who are waiting for new features
In a Reddit Dialogue, Android development team member marked that the main problems with phone-makers issuing updates “are fundamentally about costs”. They explained that since Android is released as open-source software and then it is customized by the phone manufacturers to work with their own cameras, interface and other special considerations. This takes time and effort that mean more costs to phone manufacture
Google says it has made changes to the Android update process which has allowed it to push essential updates much faster.
The new frame work system lets Google to push updates to parts of the operating system through its Google Play app store The modifications being made by the app team are designed to allow faster updates to specific parts of the system that do not need to be permitted by every individual phone manufacturer.
