PTCL Group revenue surged 62% year-on-year in the nine months ended September 30, 2026, as Pakistan’s largest telecom company posted a net profit of Rs4.7 billion, marking one of the clearest financial turnarounds in Pakistani telecom in recent years. Consolidated operating profit rose 181% over the same period, driven by the merger of Ufone and Telenor Pakistan under a single mobile brand.

PTCL Group Revenue and Profit at a Glance

Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) announced the nine-month results at a Board of Directors meeting in Islamabad on October 22, 2026. The numbers cover January through September 2026 and show growth that goes well beyond a single quarter blip.

  • Consolidated revenue: up 62% year-on-year
  • Consolidated operating profit: up 181% year-on-year
  • Net profit: Rs4.7 billion
  • PTCL standalone net profit: Rs3 billion, a 343% improvement
  • PTML (mobile) operating profit: Rs33.5 billion, up 181%
  • PTML subscriber base: over 76 million

To understand why these numbers matter, you have to go back to Q1 2025, when the group was sitting on a net loss of Rs4 billion. The consolidated operating profit surged with the inclusion of Telenor Pakistan, and the PTCL Group achieved a net profit of Rs3.1 billion in Q1 2026, marking a turnaround from that net loss. By the end of nine months, that recovery had only grown stronger.

Why PTCL Group Revenue Jumped So Fast

The single biggest driver is the merger. Consolidated revenue grew by 62 percent, primarily driven by sustained growth in the fixed broadband, enterprise and wholesale segments, along with strong mobile segment performance following the successful amalgamation of Ufone and Telenor under PTML.

Mobile business (PTML) revenue increased by 139% year-on-year, driven by the consolidation of Telenor Pakistan following the amalgamation, along with continued growth across the Corporate and Retail segments. That is not organic growth alone, it reflects the full weight of combining two large mobile networks into one reporting entity. But the subscriber numbers show real market traction too: the addition of 1.5 million subscribers in the third quarter drove revenue growth, taking PTML’s subscriber base to over 76 million.

The company said average revenue per user (ARPU) expanded, supported by portfolio harmonization, usage growth and network integration. In plain terms, customers are spending more per SIM card, not just signing up and going quiet.

Flash Fiber and Enterprise Lead the Fixed-Line Story

Outside of mobile, PTCL’s own business also improved. PTCL revenue grew by 9% year-on-year, driven by a 26% increase in Flash Fiber revenue and a 15% growth in Business Solutions, supported by 13% growth in Carrier and Wholesale services, while international business revenue increased by 11%.

PTCL surpassed the milestone of 900,000 Flash Fiber subscribers during Q2 2026, reinforcing its position as Pakistan’s largest fiber broadband provider. That number has continued to grow since. For ordinary users, this means the push to replace old copper connections with fast fiber is working, and PTCL is finding paying customers willing to upgrade.

PTCL also retained its leadership in submarine connectivity, IP bandwidth and domestic bandwidth services for carrier customers, strengthening its role in supporting Pakistan’s digital infrastructure. This part of the business matters to every Pakistani internet user indirectly, because it underpins the wholesale bandwidth that all ISPs and mobile operators buy.

Ubank Turns the Corner

One number that most coverage has glossed over is the banking arm. Ubank generated revenue of Rs18.3 billion and reported an operating profit during the period, compared to an operating loss in the corresponding period last year. The bank’s bottom line also improved by 84% compared to the prior period, indicating a continued recovery in its financial performance. For a financial services unit that was bleeding cash not long ago, swinging to operating profit is meaningful progress.

5G Expansion Adds to the Growth Picture

PTML expanded its 5G footprint across major cities during the nine-month period. This connects to a broader national push, Pakistan’s 5G network has now reached 1,700 sites across 24 cities, and PTML’s integration of Telenor’s spectrum and infrastructure is a key part of that momentum. A bigger, better-funded PTML is in a stronger position to keep building out 5G coverage than either Ufone or Telenor was operating alone.

What This Means for Pakistani Consumers

Healthy telecom profits are not just a story for investors on the Pakistan Stock Exchange. When a telecom group earns enough to reinvest, it can build more towers, lay more fiber, and expand 5G faster. The 1.5 million new subscribers added in just one quarter suggests Pakistanis are switching to or upgrading on PTML’s network in large numbers.

Flash Fiber’s 26% revenue growth signals that demand for home broadband is rising, good news for the millions of households still on slow connections. And if Ubank keeps improving, it adds another digital financial tool to a market that still has large numbers of unbanked citizens.

The results also show that Pakistan’s telecom market recovery after years of losses and inflation pressure is real, not just a temporary accounting effect from the merger consolidation. PTCL Group revenue holding at 62% growth across three consecutive quarters, Q1, Q2, and now Q3, points to a trend, not a one-off.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much did PTCL Group revenue grow in 2026?

What drove the 62% revenue jump?

The main driver was the amalgamation of Ufone and Telenor Pakistan under PTML, which added mobile subscribers and revenue at scale. Fixed broadband (Flash Fiber), enterprise services, and wholesale connectivity also grew strongly on their own.

How big is PTML’s subscriber base now?

After adding 1.5 million subscribers in Q3 2026 alone, PTML’s total subscriber base crossed 76 million, making it one of the largest mobile networks in Pakistan by user count.
