According to a release, Nokia and Cybernet, Pakistan’s biggest fixed-line telecommunications provider, announced on Wednesday the deployment of the country’s first DWDM network operating at 600Gbps per wavelength.
Cybernet and Nokia Deployed Country’s 1st DWDM Network
The DWDM network enables Cybernet to provide a high-capacity, durable network capable of meeting even the most stringent customer needs.
However, this new optical network connects Cybernet’s key metro sites and provides the increased network capacity required to satisfy Pakistan’s expanding consumer and enterprise demand for fast, high-quality broadband services.
Cybernet Global Peering Community
The telecommunications provider is providing its global peering community members with its advanced IXP platform powered by Nokia 7750 SR and 7250 IXR routers by further strengthening its global footprint with the establishment of international points of presence (POPs) in MC-1 in Barka (Oman), MRS-2 in Marseille (France), SmartHub in Fujairah (UAE), and SG1 in Singapore.
However, this platform ensures that there is enough connection capacity to address both current and future needs.
At its worldwide POPs, Cybernet provides Internet, EVPN, and MPLS-based services with high Quality of Service (QoS).
Additionally, operators are looking to enhance their optical networks in order to better fulfill the increased demand for high-speed broadband access and network speeds.
600Gbps Optical Network
The telecommunications provider worked with Nokia to construct a future-proof optical network capable of delivering over 600Gbps per lambda, ensuring that its clients can access the high-speed services it offers.
Moreover, this increases the capacity and speed of its network, which is utilized to connect the country’s major urban areas.
Additionally, the telecommunications provider can effectively grow its overall network capacity to 28Tbs by leveraging Nokia’s PSS 1830 optical transport platform, servicing broadband and enterprise customers across Pakistan.
Nokia’s Innovative Integrated ROADM Architecture
Nokia’s innovative integrated ROADM architecture based on flexgrid technology was successfully implemented by Cybernet.
Cybernet will be able to better optimize and extend the reach of its optical network as a result of this implementation.
Additional software management and control functionalities provided by Nokia’s WaveSuite service enablement automation software assist Cybernet in increasing operational efficiencies even further.
Broadband and enterprise users can also benefit from low latency, higher service quality, and a better customer experience.
