According to official data, local manufacturing plants produced/assembled 2M mobile devices in July 2023, compared to 0.29 million commercially imported.
The 8.07 million locally manufactured/assembled mobile telephones include 6.04 million 2G and 2.03 million smartphones.

Furthermore, according to PTA data, 56% of mobile devices on the Pakistan network are smartphones, and 44 percent are 2G.
Figures issued by PBS
According to figures issued by Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), country imported mobile phones worth $68.135M in July 2023.
Representing a 75.59% increase year on year compared to $38.804M in July 2022.
During the first three months of 2023 (January-March), local manufacturing plants produced/assembled 2.81 million mobile devices, compared to 0.27 million commercially imported.
According to official data, local manufacturing plants produced/assembled 0.46 million mobile devices in March 2023, compared to 0.08 million imported commercially.
Local manufacturing facilities produced/assembled 21.94 million mobile devices in calendar year 2022, down from 24.66 million in 2021, owing to challenges with imports caused by restrictions on the opening of letters of credit (LCs).
