X accounts that have been verified are denoted by a blue checkmark next to their user names. This means that X has determined that the account in question belongs to the claimed entity. There are benefits to being verified on Twitter, but there are also some negatives. Being a’verified’ user can make you feel like you have to act a specific way or make you the target of spam and harassment. But if you’re still on the fence, you could always see whether Twitter makes contact with you first.
“As a subscriber, you have the option of making your checkbox invisible. Your profile and comments will no longer display the checkbox. Some features and locations may still indicate that you have an active subscription because of the checkmark. While the checkbox is hidden, you may lose access to certain features. The message assures users that improvements are on the way to make the tool even more useful.

- First, open your profile by selecting your image from the menu at the upper left.
- Navigate to the menu and click Settings and privacy.
- The third step is to go to the X Blue settings menu and select Profile Customization.
- To conceal your checkmark, select the corresponding box.
