YouTube is more than simply a place to watch and share videos; it also includes a plethora of other features. However, the concept of uploading video remains, and anyone is allowed to do so, so long as they don’t violate Google‘s policies.
Nonetheless, it’s still possible to come across movies and channels that you’d rather not watch or interact with.
Thankfully, Google provides options for users to filter out specific channels’ material.
Wondering how to block a channel on YouTube, follow our step-by-step instructions
YouTube users can curate content from channels based on user-set criteria. This is probably the easiest way to stop watching videos from a specific channel. This procedure limits access to not just the videos uploaded to a channel but also the Shorts they share. However, once a channel has been stopped, there is no way to unblock it, but you do have a brief window of opportunity to reverse the action.
- Launch the YouTube app on your mobile device or navigate to youtube.com.
- Locate a video from the channel you wish to disable and ban from YouTube’s main page.
- You may access the video’s menu by clicking its title.
- And select the option that says “Don’t recommend channel.”
- The video on your screen will be replaced with an information card. If you’ve accidentally shut off the wrong channel, select it and tap Undo.
- By doing so, all further recommendations from that source will be canceled. Do the same to prevent access to any other YouTube channels.
In addition, you can configure your channel parameters for YouTube Kids and disable spam comments from the YouTube Android and iOS apps.
