To commemorate Eid Al-Adha, Dubai’s Permanent Committee for Labour Affairs has announced a welfare initiative called “Saada,” which translates to “happiness.”
Eid Al-Adha’s happiness
The initiative, themed “Let’s Celebrate Eid Together,” aims to provide free gifts worth millions of dirhams to Dubai workers.
According to the details, three lucky workers will receive free cars this Eid, while thousands more will receive Apple iPhones.
The Saada welfare initiative will take place in laborers’ quarters in Al Quoz, Jebel Ali, and Muhaisnah. It will apply to all laborers living in Dubai.
According to Khaleej Times, Major General Obaid Muhair bin Suroor, Chairman of the Permanent Committee for Labour Affairs, will issue coupon cards to all laborers in order for them to participate in Saada.
He also promised the workers that they would assist them in filling out the coupon cards, which would then be collected in a draw box. The drawing will take place on Eid in the aforementioned labor areas.
The draw will take place over three days, according to Obaid, with the car prize being drawn on the last day of Eid Al-Adha.
To attract workers at the sites, the initiative will include not only gifts but also other forms of entertainment such as folklore and cultural performances.
According to committee officials, the initiative, which is funded by Dubai Charity Association and Beit Al Khair Society, will also provide delicious lunch to workers on Eid Al-Adha.
The Department of Economic Development (DED), Dubai Municipality, Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department, Dubai Police, and the General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs (GDRFA) all support this program.
Abdullah Lashakri Muhammad, Secretary General of the committee, described this initiative as a token of appreciation, remarking that the workers make the UAE and its cities beautiful.
He went on to say that they are the most hardworking people in Dubai, as they leave their families behind to work in the UAE.
