PAMA statement on the sales situation

Pakistan’s already dwindling auto industry is being harmed by the country’s economic downturn. PAMA had no choice but to announce production cuts in the face of zero inventory.

However, the entire episode has resulted in a severe downtrend in car sales, with an 85% drop recorded last month, says PAMA.

Similarly, month-on-month sales decreased by 52%, with 4,463 vehicles sold last month compared to 9,351 in March. The reason for this drop is the poor performance of Pakistan Suzuki and Honda Atlas last month.

All other car companies, including Kia Lucky Motors, Master Changan Motors, Regal Motors, MG Motors, and Al-Haj Proton, are not PAMA members. The report does not include their sales figures.
