According to Google CEO Sundar Pichai, the internet giant plans to integrate conversational artificial intelligence capabilities into its hugely popular search engine.
According to an interview with The Wall Street Journal, this effort is aimed at increasing Google’s ability to handle different search requests with the help of AI developments.

Despite the presence of ChatGPT and other business-related problems, Pichai dismissed the notion of chatbots posing a danger to Google’s search business, which accounts for more than half of the parent company’s income.
Mr. Pichai indicated in an interview on Tuesday that the potential for development is even bigger than it was previously.
Google has been in the forefront of developing large language models (LLMs), which are computer programmes that can read and answer to natural language questions in a human-like fashion.
However, the corporation has yet to put this technology to use in order to influence how users interact with search engines. This is about to change, according to Mr. Pichai.
Individuals will be able to ask questions and interact with LLMs while completing searches, he added. This feature will be built into search engine.
Because Microsoft has already integrated the technology underlying the ChatGPT system into its Bing search engine, Pichai is dealing with one of Google’s most important problems in recent years, as well as investor pressure to cut expenses.
Alphabet announced its largest employment reduction to date in January, laying off over 12,000 employees, or 6% of the total. Other IT corporations have also cut back in reaction to inflation and economic fears.
According to Mr. Pichai’s previous pronouncements, Google aims to allow people to interact directly with the company’s big language models via its search engine.
