In order to give consumers a better experience, Zoom for Chromebooks will now finally default to its Progressive Web App (PWA).
Last year, Zoom PWA made its ChromeOS debut. The original update, which modified the platform’s overall design and made it less like the one on Windows/Mac, was a significant improvement.
Zoom is a cloud-based video conferencing software that may be used for live chat, webinars, audio conferencing, and video conferences.
It expanded the possibilities by including new ones like backdrops and reactions. However, customers found a number of errors, blank screens, and other problems in the upgrade.
Zoom PWA has taken the place of the old app following the update. The video conferencing platform claimed on their website, “Zoom for Chrome PWA is separate from the ChromeOS app and is intended to replace it, as support for ChromeOS apps are being phased out across all operating systems by November 5, 2022. We strongly recommend admins begin migrating users from the ChromeOS app to the new Zoom for Chrome PWA to ensure a smooth transition.”
Users can now join a meeting by clicking a link that opens the PWA by default on Chromebooks.
