The interviews for the position of CEO of Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) have been finished by the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication.
Sources were informed that, in the MoITT that candidates for the position of CEO of PSEB were interviewed by a selection committee led by a federal minister. Following shortlisting, the panel of three candidates will be submitted for approval to the federal government.
An official from the IT Government stated that, the position of CEO of the Pakistan [Software] Export Board is crucial and that the ministry wants to fill it as quickly as possible since PSEB is in charge of boosting IT exports. The ministry wants to export IT for $5 billion during the current fiscal year.
In the first week of September, the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication began the hiring process for the CEO of PSEB and issued a call for applicants. After being shortlisted, roughly 30 applicants were reportedly invited for interviews while 26 individuals appeared before the selection committee, according to the sources.
For the past two months, the CEO PSEB position has been empty. Prior to this, Osman Nasir MD PSEB resigned from the position when his contract expired in August 2022. The Ministry of IT and Telecom offered Osman Nasir an extension of his contract, but he declined, according to the sources.
