The downtime of telecommunications giant Rogers is affecting emergency services, banking, and government departments.

Rogers Communications, Canada’s largest telecommunications company, has gone down, taking with it much of the country’s operational telecommunications functionality.
The outage, which is said to have started at 8:30 a.m. UTC, is affecting wireless, cable, and internet customers across the country. Even services that are not directly controlled by Rogers are experiencing problems.
The outage’s consequences have impacted many sectors of Canadian society, including emergency services, banks, financial institutions, government departments, police stations, airports, bridge infrastructure, and the Canadian-US border.
The 911 service is still operational, but it is inaccessible via Rogers-affiliated devices or networks.
Rogers Communications is the leading internet provider in Ontario, and together with two other companies (BCE and Telus).
it controls over 90% of the Canadian market. This is the country’s second outage caused by Rogers in the last two years.
