Motorola has improved last year’s Moto G Stylus model for 2022, with quicker processing and 5G connectivity, a smoother refresh rate on the 1080p display, and an optical image stabilization main camera.
The new Moto G Stylus 5G boasts a 6.8-inch Max Vision LCD display with 1,080 x 2,400 pixels, just like the 2021 generations, but Motorola has increased the refresh rate to 120 Hz for better animations and scrolling.
Of course, the new Moto comes with a built-in stylus for taking notes, sketching onscreen, editing images, and so on, with the Moto Note app allowing onscreen writing without having to unlock the phone first.
Naturally, the G Stylus 5G comes with a more recent chipset, but because it’s a mid-range phone, it’s the Snapdragon 695 5G platform rather than Qualcomm’s latest and best.
Models with up to 8 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of storage with micro SD expansion are also available.
The main 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor has optical image stabilization and quad pixel technology, while the 8-megapixel ultra-wide doubles as a macro lens, and the array is completed with a 2-megapixel depth sensor.
A 16-megapixel selfie camera with 4x improved light sensitivity than previously pokes a hole in the FHD+ display.
Users of cabled earphones will like the inclusion of a 3.5-mm audio jack in addition to the solitary USB-C connector, and the G Stylus 5G comes with a charger for the 5,000-mAh battery, which is another rarity for today’s devices.
The 2022 Moto G Stylus 5G runs Android 12 and will go on sale on April 28 for US$499.99.
