The official smartphone partner for this year’s PUBG Mobile Global Tournaments has been confirmed as Sony Xperia. The smartphone manufacturer will offer its flagship smartphones to worldwide professional athletes.
The event will be held in several regions, allowing more users to participate. PUBG is set to host two distinct events:
- PUBG Mobile Global Championship 2022
- A mid-year tournament (Details of which will be announced later)
James Yang, Director of PUBG Mobile Global Esports, elaborated, “The player experience is always a top priority for PUBG MOBILE Esports so it felt natural and confident to enter a partnership with Sony’s Xperia™. We look forward to seeing our players showcasing an even stronger performance with their Xperia flagship series at our global tournaments this year.”
Many people do not consider the Sony Xperia 1 III and Xperia 5 III to be gaming phones, although the business did its utmost to include all of the necessary features, with engineers consulting with experienced e-gamers.
The smartphone screens were calibrated and fine-tuned by recording and duplicating players’ finger movements with a robot, allowing engineers to reach a refresh rate of 120Hz and a touch sampling rate of 240Hz.
Additional features, such as the ‘L- raiser,’ which brightens shadows and allows players to find foes in the dark, are available. Other game changes made by the company will be announced soon after the event begins.
