Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunications Syed Amin Ul Haque said in a statement that 43 apps have been blocked as a result of the ministry’s immediate implementation of the instructions.
Furthermore, he stated that the ministry had directed Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) Chairman Major General Hafeez Ur Rehman (Retd) to take immediate action.
According to the minister, an awareness campaign should be launched to prevent people from becoming victims of such fraud. People should also file complaints with the PTA, the FIA Cybercrime, and their local police, according to the statement.
According to MoITT, the IT minister has also contacted the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and directed that action be taken against such elements rather than waiting for complaints.
