San Francisco: OpenAI ChatGPT made available to all users a more advanced and effective version of the AI engine that powers its well-liked generative tool free ChatGPT model on Monday.

You can now enjoy the free ChatGPT-4 version. The major product update from OpenAI arrived one day ahead of Google’s anticipated disclosures regarding Gemini. Gemini is the search engine behemoth’s AI (Artificial Intelligence) tool that directly competes with ChatGPT.

Excitement Builds as Free ChatGPT Model Goes Public

At the eagerly awaited launch ceremony in San Francisco, Chief Technology Officer Mira Murati declared,

“We’re very, very excited to bring GPT-4o to all of our free users out there.”

Over the coming weeks, OpenAI’s products will begin to incorporate the new paradigm, according to the reports.

During the virtual event, Murati and OpenAI developers showcased the enhanced capabilities of OpenAI GPT-4o by challenging and probing the ChatGPT chatbot.

Murati further stated before she demonstrated,

“We know that these models get more and more complex, but we want the interaction experience to actually become more natural, easy.”

This included posing queries in Italian to a ChatGPT. That had a human voice and asking it to interpret expressions on faces or solve intricate mathematical problems.

The incident is merely the most recent development in the AI weapons race. Which has seen Microsoft, and a supporter of OpenAI. It will overtake Apple as the largest firm in the world based on market capitalization.

Tech Giants in Race for Generative Free ChatGPT Model Leadership

Google and OpenAI are engaged in a fierce competition to become the leading companies in generative AI. While Facebook’s parent company Meta and upstart Anthropic are also making significant moves to stay competitive.

The corporations are agitatedly trying to figure out how to pay for the astronomical costs of generative AI. Much of which are attributed to the chip giant Nvidia and its potent GPU processors.

Customers may now obtain fewer effective versions of OpenIA ChatGPT or Google’s chatbots for free. It is still unclear whether the general public is willing to pay a monthly fee to continue using the technology.
