Yamaha has officially forfeited its title as a strong value provider by announcing a significant price increase for all bikes. The most recent announcement was made in November, and it has caused bike prices to rise to Rs. 352,500.
The new prices are as follows, effective January 4, 2023:

Although the company did not provide an explanation for the increase, it is safe to assume that local currency depreciation is the primary cause.
Yamaha’s seventh price increase in 2022. Since February 2022, the bike manufacturer has raised prices on a regular basis. Because of Pakistan’s ongoing economic problems, motorcycle dealers and industry experts anticipate more price increases next year.
According to the most recent government reports, bike manufacturing has been heavily localised, leaving little reason for motorcycle manufacturers to raise prices so frequently and by such large margins.
As is customary, no reason is given for the new price increases. Although most motorcycles are manufactured and assembled in Pakistan, major components are imported by companies such as Yamaha and Suzuki.
Yamaha Pakistan imports parts such as engines, so its rate is directly related to the dollar rate.
Furthermore, import restrictions, including those on CKD kits, may have affected production, resulting in the price increase.
Whatever the reason, companies, particularly bike companies, must share the reasons for price increases so that consumers understand why the bikes are so expensive.
It will be the final price increase for Yamaha motorcycles this year, and we hope 2023 will be a good year for the auto industry.
