Customers are excited about the Utility Stores Corporation’s (USC) decision to lower the price of sugar.

Utility Stores Decided To Reduce Sugar Prices by Rs. 15 per kg
There is a good chance that the price of sugar for regular consumers will decrease by Rs. 10 to 15 per kg.
According to USC sources, the company will lower the price of sugar for regular consumers.
On the other hand, customers of the Benazir Income Support Program who receive sugar at a discounted price will not see a price decrease.
Existing Sugar Prices
However, right now, a kilogram of sugar costs Rs. 155 at Utility Stores for general consumers.
Customers of the Benazir Income Support Program will still be able to purchase sugar for Rs. 109 per kg.
Compared to the open market, the cost of sugar is 18 rupees more per kilogram for average consumers.
This encouraging development comes after the USC’s successful bid, which resulted in cheaper sugar—by Rs. 10.37 per kg—than in the previous bid.
Furthermore, on November 29, 2023, USC paid Rs. 124.90 per kg for sugar.
Real Price
The cost of sugar, after all costs are deducted, is Rs. 138 per kg.
In addition, an evaluation of the drop in lentil prices is in progress.
However, the sources claim that the USC board is ready to approve the price drop for sugar.
