Sindh High Court Stops Fees for Exams and Certificates
In January 2024, the Sindh High Court gave good news. The court refused the review plea from educational boards. The boards wanted to collect fees from students. The court stopped them from doing so. The court ruled that the boards could not charge fees.
A two-member bench made the decision. Judge Iqbal Kalhoro and Judge Arbab Ali were on the bench. They listened to the review plea from the boards. The boards’ lawyers asked the court to allow them to collect fees. The court said no. It stuck to its earlier decision.
The court’s earlier decision said no fees for students. The court reminded everyone of the Sindh government’s promise. The government promised free education up to intermediate level. It also provided money for exams and certificates back in 2017.
During the hearing, the Assistant Advocate General spoke. He said the provincial government would give the boards the needed funds. This meant the boards did not need to collect fees from students.
