Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 Pakistan Price and PTA Tax

Open-market prices in Pakistan vary by seller, but most dealers are listing the 256 GB variant between Rs. 380,000 and Rs. 395,000. The figure of Rs. 386,100 has been widely circulated as the going rate for the base storage model.

There is a cost that many buyers miss: the PTA (Pakistan Telecommunication Authority) registration tax. Because the Flip 7 is imported, buyers who bring the phone in personally must register it. The PTA tax on this device is listed at approximately Rs. 176,207, calculated on an import value of USD 1,760. That is on top of whatever you paid for the handset itself. If you buy from a local dealer, that tax is usually already baked into the price, but always confirm before paying.

The global retail price in the US is USD 1,099 for the 256 GB model. The difference between that and what Pakistani buyers pay reflects import duties, rupee exchange rate, and the PTA levy, a reminder of how expensive flagship tech has become in Pakistan.

Key Specs of the Galaxy Z Flip 7

Display

The main screen grows to 6.9 inches, up from 6.7 inches on the Flip 6, with a Foldable Dynamic LTPO AMOLED 2X panel, 1080 x 2520 resolution, a 120 Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, and a peak brightness of 2,600 nits. That brightness means you can use it outdoors even in bright Pakistani sunlight.

The big design win is the cover screen. Samsung moved to a full 4.1-inch Super AMOLED FlexWindow, up from a cut-down 3.4-inch panel on the Flip 6. The cameras and LED flash are now flush inside the display, so the cover screen is truly edge-to-edge. You can check notifications, reply to messages, control music, and even run select apps like Google Gemini without opening the phone at all.

Chipset, The Big Switch

This is the detail that has divided opinions globally. Samsung dropped Qualcomm Snapdragon in favour of its own Exynos 2500 (3 nm) chip for the Flip 7, the first time a Galaxy Z Flip has used an in-house processor. The Fold 7, by contrast, kept the Snapdragon 8 Elite. Samsung’s reasoning is partly cost control: using Exynos helped Samsung keep the retail price from climbing higher.

The Exynos 2500 is a ten-core chip with one Cortex-X5 core at 3.3 GHz and a custom Xclipse 950 GPU based on AMD RDNA 3.5 architecture. It is a capable processor for daily use, app switching, and gaming, though it does not beat the Snapdragon 8 Elite in raw benchmarks. For typical Pakistani usage, social media, video calls, streaming, photography, the difference will barely matter.

Camera

The rear camera system carries a 50 MP wide sensor (f/1.8, OIS, dual-pixel PDAF) and a 12 MP ultra-wide (123-degree field of view). The front camera is 10 MP. Hardware is unchanged from the Flip 6’s rear setup, but Samsung has added AI-powered enhancements through the ProVisual Engine: better low-light shots, AI Zoom, and automatic skin-tone optimisation. The cover screen also acts as a real-time viewfinder when you take selfies with the main cameras, a genuinely useful trick for group shots and vlogs.

One honest limitation: there is still no dedicated zoom or telephoto lens. For a phone at this price, that is a gap. If zoom photography matters to you, the Flip 7 is not the right choice.

Battery and Charging

Despite being thinner than the Flip 6, Samsung fitted a larger 4,300 mAh battery, a welcome upgrade. Charging is 25 W wired. That is not fast by 2025 standards (many Android rivals charge at 65 W or above), but it is enough to get you back to 50% in about 30 minutes. Wireless charging at 15 W is also supported.

Software and Updates

The Flip 7 ships with Android 16 and One UI 8. Samsung has promised seven major Android OS upgrades, meaning this phone should receive updates all the way to Android 23. For Pakistani buyers, that long support window is a strong reason to consider this phone: it means your Rs. 386,100 investment stays relevant for years without feeling outdated.

Build and Colours

The phone is 6.5 mm thin when open and 13.7 mm when folded. It weighs 188 g. The back is matte Gorilla Glass Victus 2 with an Armor Aluminum frame. The hinge, called the Armor FlexHinge, has been redesigned for less crease and longer durability. Water resistance is IP48, which means it handles splashes and rain but is not fully dustproof. Colour options are Jet Black, Blue Shadow, Coral Red, and Mint (Mint is Samsung online-store exclusive).

Galaxy Z Flip 7 vs Galaxy Z Flip 6: What Actually Changed

  • Display: Main screen grew from 6.7 to 6.9 inches. Cover screen jumped from 3.4 to 4.1 inches, now truly full-width.
  • Chipset: Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 (Flip 6) replaced by Exynos 2500 (Flip 7).
  • Battery: Slightly larger at 4,300 mAh despite a thinner body.
  • Software: Launches on Android 16 with 7 years of guaranteed upgrades vs 4 years on the Flip 6.
  • Design: Body is 0.4 mm thinner; new flush camera design on cover screen.
  • Camera hardware: Unchanged rear system, but improved AI processing.

Is the Galaxy Z Flip 7 Worth Buying in Pakistan?

At Rs. 386,100, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 is a premium buy in a country where most smartphone buyers spend under Rs. 60,000. It targets a small but growing segment, professionals, tech enthusiasts, and fashion-forward users who want something different from a regular slab phone.

The seven-year update guarantee is the strongest argument in its favour. You are not just buying today’s specs; you are buying a device that will stay secure and current until the early 2030s. The cover screen is also genuinely more useful than before, Pakistani users who live on WhatsApp and Instagram will appreciate being able to glance at and reply to messages without opening the phone.

The weak points are the Exynos chipset (though good enough for most users), the absence of a zoom lens, and the 25 W charging speed. If you need a zoom camera or faster top-up speeds, look at rival slab flagships at a similar price.

For anyone comparing foldables specifically, Samsung’s own Samsung Pakistan official site is the right place to check for any local warranty or authorised dealer listings. And if you are also weighing up mid-range options at lower prices, you can see how Pakistani buyers balance specs and budget in our look at the Tecno Spark 30 Pro vs Redmi 13C price and specs comparison.
