ISLAMABAD Nadra: The National Assembly Standing Committee on Information Technology and Telecommunications has coordinated the Pakistan Telecommunications Authority and NADRA to devise an extensive instrument to really take a look at deal/issuance of unlawful SIMs as it is presenting danger to public safety and protection of the private people.

The PTA educated the advisory group that it had hindered around 732,000 unlawful Subscriber Identity/Identification Modules (SIMs) during 2021 till date.

Nonetheless, the board of trustees meeting communicated disappointment over the activity taken against the illicit utilization of the SIM cards, guiding the PTA and NADRA executives to show up before the body with a thorough strategy in such manner. The advisory group saw that the illicit SIMs were a danger to the area’s security.

Government Secretary IT Dr Sohail Rajput let the advisory group know that the web-based media rules have been changed.

Rules have been refreshed, which will be informed soon, he added.

Part Legal said that Section 51 has been added to the standards and the bureau has supported the modified online media rules.

The administrator of the board of trustees coordinated that it the changed web-based media rules ought to be given to the council.

Ali Gohar, an individual from the board said that the council ought to be advised again about the amended online media rules.

Enactment might be made so as to not perpetrate cybercrimes, he added.
