The Poco F5 series will make its global debut tomorrow. However, the company’s UAE branch has already jumped ahead and posted information about the two phones on its website today.
As a result, the Poco F5 and Poco F5 Pro specifications and images are now fully revealed, with only the pricing details to be confirmed tomorrow.
F5 Pro Poco
The F5 Pro is powered by a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset and comes with three memory options. It may look familiar because it is essentially a version of the China-only Redmi K60 with Google Services and a slightly smaller battery. On the software front, the device runs Android 13 with the MIUI 14 user interface.
The phone has a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen with a 1440p resolution (3200 x 1440 pixels) and a pixel density of 526 PPI, the highest ever for a Poco smartphone.
The display has a smooth refresh rate of 120Hz and a responsive touch sampling rate of 480Hz. Furthermore, the screen has a fingerprint scanner beneath it and is protected by Gorilla Glass 5.
The main camera has a 64MP Omnivision OV64B sensor, an f/1.8 aperture, and a 6P lens. There’s also an 8MP ultrawide-angle shooter with a 120-degree field of view and a 2MP macro camera.
This camera configuration supports OIS+EIS, a desirable feature not found on previous Poco devices, making the F5 Pro especially appealing to photographers.
A 16MP sensor is housed within a punch-hole cutout on the device for selfies. It should be noted, however, that the front camera’s video recording capability is limited to 1080p resolution.
The Poco F5 Pro has a slightly smaller 5,160 mAh battery than the Redmi K60, which has a 5,500 mAh battery. The F5 Pro, on the other hand, retains its impressive 67W wired charging and 30W wireless charging capabilities.
The Poco F5 Pro will be available in two color options in the UAE: White and Black, both with a carbon-like finish. There are three RAM and storage configurations available: 8 GB of RAM with 256 GB of storage, 12 GB of RAM with 256 GB of storage, and 12 GB of RAM with 512 GB of storage.
It remains to be seen whether additional color options and memory options will be available in other markets, which will be revealed at tomorrow’s event.
Poco F5
The standard Poco F5 is powered by a different Qualcomm chipset, the mid-range Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2, with a single CPU clocked at 2.9 GHz. The device has 256 GB of storage and a RAM configuration of 8 GB or 12 GB.
The Poco F5, like the Poco F5 Pro, has a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz. The resolution, however, is set to 1080p.
The camera setup on the back includes an undisclosed model 64MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultrawide unit, and a 2MP macro camera. While OIS and EIS are still present, these cameras are most likely using lower-quality sensors than the Pro model. The selfie camera has a resolution of 16MP and an aperture of f/2.45.
The Poco F5 has a 5,000 mAh battery with 67W fast charging support. Android 13 with MIUI 14 as the user interface, NFC, an IR blaster, and Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity are among the notable features.
These specifications may look familiar because they are shared by another China-only smartphone, the Redmi Note 12 Turbo. The Poco F5 is shown in three color options on the Emirati website: black, blue, and the standout hero color white.
