Pakistan’s textile exports fell 12 percent year on year in September 2023, totaling $1.35 billion, down from $1.53 billion in the same month the previous fiscal year.

According to the All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA), these exports fell by 8% month on month compared to the $1.46 billion achieved in August 2023.

According to the Pakistan Board of Statistics (PBS), exports fell 10% to $4.12 billion in the first quarter of the current fiscal year (1QFY24), down from $4.59 billion in the previous quarter.
However, it is worth mentioning that Pakistan’s overall exports increased by 4% month on month and 1% year on year in September 2023.
Caretaker Govt. Ambition
Caretaker Federal Minister of Commerce Gohar Ejaz has set an ambitious aim of $25 billion for exports in the current fiscal year, up from $16.50 billion in FY23.
