Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said today that he will help Chinese investors in Pakistan. He said he will protect them, their projects, and their money. Prime minister said businesses in Pakistan-China can work together to have a good future.
Today, the Prime Minister spoke to the Pakistan-China Business Forum. He said both countries can trade and invest together. They can share technology, make things like clothes and machines, and use new energy.
He said China’s way of growing is great. He wants Pakistan to do the same.
“I will go home and make our economy grow like China’s. We can do it if we try hard. It won’t be easy, but it is possible,” he said.
The Prime Minister also told Pakistani business leaders to talk to Chinese business leaders. They can bring Chinese clothes businesses to Pakistan. They can work together on making steel and other things.
“Today is the time to work together. Sit and talk with your Chinese friends. I promise to help you,” he said.
He told the Forum that Pakistan has $10 trillion in minerals. Pakistan makes $30 billion a year selling things. There is a lot of good stuff in the ground, he said.
He told China that his government is fighting corruption. They are changing how things work in Pakistan.
Prime Minister Highlights China’s Economic Growth vs Pakistan’s Potential
The Prime Minister said Shenzhen makes $500 billion. Pakistan makes $380 billion. But Shenzhen is just a small city with 13 million people. PM said that China’s fast growth is amazing.
The Prime Minister said China’s leader, President Xi Jinping, is great. He helped make China rich and strong. He helped 700 million people stop being poor.
The Prime Minister said that 50 years ago, Pakistan was richer than China. He said Pakistan can be great again.
The Prime Minister said he likes President Xi’s idea for peace. He said the Belt and Road plan helps Pakistan. It brings a lot of money to Pakistan.
He was sad about a time when people hurt Chinese workers. Sharif said it was a very bad time for Pakistan. He said he will keep Chinese workers safe.
Pakistan’s Debt Situation Improving: Pakistan-China Relations
The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar, talked too. He said that Pakistan used to have a good economy. But new leaders keep changing things. They make problems, he said.
He said the Prime Minister has a plan. The plan will make Pakistan rich. It will make jobs and stop other countries from selling to Pakistan.
The Deputy Prime Minister said that Pakistan is good at making computers and food. He said that this Forum is not like the old ones. Now, they are making plans to do business.
He told Chinese businessmen to think about Pakistan. Pakistan has cheap workers, he said.
He said the Prime Minister made a group to help investments. All the leaders will work together to help.
The Finance Minister, Muhammad Aurangzeb, said that Pakistan’s money is getting better. Muhammad Aurangzeb said that farmers are growing more food, and Pakistan is making more things.
He said that Pakistan will not owe much money this year. He said Pakistan is talking to the IMF. They will help make Pakistan strong.
The Ambassador to China, Khalil Hashmi, talked too. He said that this Forum will help Pakistan and China. They can work together on new things.
He said that Shenzhen is a good city. They make new things fast.
He said 500 business leaders came today. They will talk and make plans to do business.
