TikTok, a famous short video-sharing app, had its community restrictions enforced in full force in Pakistan throughout the first three months of 2023.The company has reportedly deleted an astounding 91 million videos from all over the world since they last published an enforcement report. Only roughly 0.6% of all videos on TikTok are this short.
More than half of these were removed automatically by the system (53 million), while about 6 million were restored after being reviewed. Automated removal demonstrates TikTok’s dedication to a safe and welcoming community.
During this quarter, TikTok removed over 11.7 million videos from the Pakistani platform due to policy violations. In the final three months of 2022, the platform eliminated over 12.6 million videos for the same reasons, so this is an improvement.
Tiktok takes action against Pakistani spam content
TikTok has taken action against spam accounts and content in addition to those that violate community guidelines. This helps stop spambots from signing up for an account and ruining the service for everyone.
TikTok’s prompt response to infractions in Pakistan is commendable. The website was successful in removing 83% of offensive videos before they gained traction. In addition, almost 92.2% of the content was taken down within the first day. In fact, by the end of the first quarter of 2023, TikTok had an amazing overall removal rate of 98.8 percent.
TikTok is also focusing on the security of its younger users on a global scale. Nearly 17 million accounts were deleted during this time because they were thought to be used by minors under the age of 13. More than 51 million bogus accounts were removed from the platform.
