The OnePlus 10 Pro has now been confirmed to launch in January 2022, with its chief executive, Pete Lau, confirming the same. Now, the executive has also confirmed the exact make of the display panel of the upcoming smartphone. According to Lau, the upcoming OnePlus flagship will feature an LTPO 2.0 display panel. The next generation LTPO panel is expected to also offer variable refresh rate of up to 120Hz on the OnePlus 10 Pro, alongside a standard version of the smartphone as well.
The OnePlus 10 Pro is set to follow up on the OnePlus 9 Pro, which featured typically flagship specifications — alongside a Hasselblad collaboration for the very first time. When announced, the company had announced that it will be a long term strategic collaboration between itself and Hasselblad. The collaboration’s first year saw Hasselblad being involved in tuning colour tones on its flagship phones. Now, in its second year, it remains to be seen how the partnership plays out in terms of the camera offering.
While the latter is yet to be confirmed, the LTPO 2.0 panel is now sure to be present on the OnePlus 10 Pro. As of now, it is not clear as to what exactly might LTPO 2.0 bring to the table. Lau has touted that the new panel will represent even better smoothness on the display, while it may also offer colour accuracy, brightness, dimming and efficiency benefits. LTPO OLED panels already offer varying refresh rates from 1Hz to 120Hz, and the LTPO 2.0 panel could improve on this as well.
Other tipped specifications of the OnePlus 10 Pro include the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, a triple rear camera setup featuring a 48MP primary unit, a 50MP ultra-wide unit, and an 8MP telephoto unit with 3x optical zoom range. The display is tipped to be 6.7 inches in size, and in the power department, the flagship device is tipped to offer a 5,000mAh battery with 80W fast charging. Other key specifications will also likely include Android 12, with a custom OxygenOS interface on top.
