Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, May 15, 2025 – The National Human Rights Institution (NHRI) carried out its third inspection visit to a workers’ accommodation facility in the Emirate of Sharjah, as part of its ongoing efforts to promote and protect labor rights in the UAE.
Purpose of the Visit
The inspection is part of a series of regular field visits conducted by NHRI to monitor workers’ living and working conditions. These efforts aim to ensure full compliance with national legislation and international human rights conventions and treaties.

Delegation Members
The delegation was led by Ms. Noor Al Suwaidi, Member of the Board of Trustees, and included:
- H.E. Mohammed Al Hammadi, Member of the Board of Trustees
- Dr. Abdul Aziz Al Noman, Member of the Board of Trustees
- H.E. Dr. Saeed Al Ghfeli, Secretary-General of NHRI
They were accompanied by a team of staff and labor rights specialists.
Engagement with Workers
During the visit, the delegation held multiple meetings with residents to gather feedback on their living conditions and work environment. These discussions provided critical insights into on-ground realities, helping shape recommendations for further enhancing labor protections in the UAE.
